The Hughes Model 3050 is the combination easel of choice for the artist who works in multimedia. It can be adjusted to any conceivable position desired when painting. It can be used with the carriage assembly vertically for oils, forward for pastels, horizontal for water media or inks and it can be rocked for washes or esoteric aplications of liquid media! If you attach a board over the top surface of the frame it makes a great copy stand or work table. The easel is internally counter weighted, extra weights are supplied. It’s the ultimate painting machine. It folds up nicely for storage and is easily moved about.

Recently we have produced several custom 3050's designed to hold much heavier canvas. These models employ additional struts which are attached to the top of the carriage and swing down into place to make contact with the floor when the carriage is in a horizontal configuration thereby providing additional support. Several have been produced in larger sizes to accomodate artists who work in a much larger scale.
